From its 2000
years of history towering above the Gardon River, the Pont
du Gard has withstood the test of time.
Its beauty lies in its plainness and its greatness.
48.77 meters high, it is actually the highest of all known
roman aqueducts.
This height consists of three superposed rows of arches set
back from one another and is the equivalent of an 18-floor-building.
